About
I love capturing moments in time. I am plagued by this feeling that I will never have this moment back again, so I feel compelled to capture what I can. It's a funny thing that by looking at a photo, we can recall so much about the experience of that moment - smells, sounds, and most importantly, feelings.
I started my career as a graphic designer and publications specialist. After I had my two wonderful children, I couldn't believe how quickly they moved from one phase to the next. I knew I would regret not having a record of each wondrous phase, so I began studying the art of portrait photography. I headed back to college, attended PPA seminars, and was lucky enough to be introduced to a terrific Philadelphia area wedding photographer, who was kind enough to walk me though the move from film to digital imaging. Check out Jeff Reeder's work through the links above.
Now I am honored to capture these fleeting moments for other families through my portrait business, Lynette Shavel Photography. Specializing in natural light portraiture, I am always on the lookout for that beautiful, soft, just-right light. For samples of my work, visit my website at lynetteshavel.com.
