I was driving through Lambertville today when I came across this bridge and dam. We have had below freezing temps for a couple of weeks now, which would account for the huge, frozen in mid-stream ice formations on the dam. I'm ready for a nice tropical island somewhere.

It doesn't get much more Americana than Lake Afton in Yardley when the ice has frozen over. Josh was begging all weekend to go over, and we finally squeezed in an hour. I don't know how he did it, it was so cold. Rachel and I hung out in Starbucks with our hot caramel apple cider, so we were toasty warm.

As much as I hate to admit it, I am STILL catching up on some late fall shoots. In fact, I have one left to edit. The rain pushed some of the sessions back to late November. By that time it was a mad rush to get orders out in time for holiday delivery. Then the kids had off, Christmas was here, and well, I'm finally starting to get back into the swing. I came across these two shots today, and was reminded how fun this family was. They had a great time just hanging out together, and it showed.

I have always wondered how a river freezes over, so I stopped by the Delaware today. There were small chunks of ice flowing by, and the edges by the banks were frozen up to about 6 feet out. If the weather stays as cold as predicted, it will be interesting to see the progression by this weekend.

I don't know what it is about this time of year, but, like clockwork, I get the urge to purge. I have already cleaned out three overloaded closets, part of the basement, and now I have moved on to my office. One of my Christmas presents from Jim was a beautiful black filing cabinet. Part of the closet cleaning was moving out the various small filing cabinets I had tucked here and there (FOUR in all!). After four days of sifting through everything, I am down to just two filing cabinets. One will head to the basement with the stuff you have to keep, but rarely access. The other is now neatly organized and ready for action. It's a great way to start a new decade.
