It was such a beautiful night we drove into Philly for dinner. First we walked around Elfreth's Alley, the oldest "continuously inhabited" street in America. The homes date to the early 1700s. Then we headed over to the Continental, found a table on the street, and ordered from their tapas menu. The calamari was especially fresh and tasty, and my "Twizzler" martini went down a little too easily! Thank goodness I stopped at one! Below, Rachel and Josh strolled ahead of us in Elfreth's Alley.

I'm not sure that even when I was 11 I liked to be covered head to foot in sand. The waves were rough from the tropical depression offshore, so even when we ventured into the surf, we were quite sandy. But the sun was shining, the water was warm, and we had a nice end of the summer beach visit.

I always tell my children that if they didn't live in Bucks County and just visited, they would beg to move here. I love everything about this area - the canal paths for biking, the old stone farmhouses, the rolling hills, and our local towns that are straight out of another time. This Stockburger dealership in Newtown hasn't changed in decades.

I met J today to shoot some Bat Mitzvah portraits. She had a 1000-watt smile, and the most enviable naturally wavy hair. She actually had her Bat Mitzvah in Israel at the Wailing Wall, but will have her service here later this week. Congratulations and good luck this weekend.
